Holiday Spice Tea! A fun “how to”

Ok so I wanted to share a great holiday gift D.I.Y. that is super easy to do and not too expensive. Every year growing up my mom always made “Texas Spice Tea” and it is so good! So this year I decided to make some and give them as gifts! Since we don’t live in Texas anymore I am renaming the tea as Holiday Spice Tea.

You will need:

3 cups of Orange Tang powder

1.5 cups Lipton Lemon instant iced tea mix

3 cups sugar

4 tspoons ground cinnamon

2 tsoons ground cloves

All you have to do is mix all the dry ingredients together and it’s done!

I divided the mix up into large jars (walmart brand canning jars $6) I liked these jars because they were a little larger than regular canning jars and didn’t have any brand printed in the glass.

To make the tea just mix a few scoops with hot water and enjoy! I like to use a little extra because I like it sweet, but it’s up to you!

I made some hang tags and jar topers that I would love to share with you if you decided to make the tea or just want to use them on jars for something else this holiday season! Click here to get them, just save them to your desktop and print them, for free!

Here is how I used the hang tags and jar toppers, and a step by step of what I did.

You will need: kraft paper, or card stock paper of you choice, a printer, something to cut with ( I like to use an x-acto knife ), glue stick or spray glue, something to tie the tags on with ( I used hemp ) and of course you will need jars.

*also when using an x-acto knife always cut away from body, use a ruler and a good cutting surface; if you don’t have a cutting mat use a kitchen cutting board.

So I just printed the tags out and cut them, used a hole punch so I could tie the hemp to the tag and then just wrapped the hemp around the top of the jar. The tags tend to stick out so you might have to curve it slightly to hang right.

For the Jar toppers I just used a glue stick and stuck them on, it would be best to have printed on sticker paper or use spray glue but I didn’t have either of those!
